Jamia attended Michigan State University, where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science Pre-Law. After graduating from Michigan State in 2010, Jamia attended Oakland Community College for Paralegal Studies. Jamia furthered her education in law by attending Western Michigan University Cooley Law School.
While in law school, Jamia completed her Internship with the Estate Planning Clinic obtaining hands on experience in estate planning. Her responsibilities included legal research, client intake, the drafting and executing of Wills, Powers of Attorney, and conducting and reporting Guardianship reviews. Simultaneously, Jamia was the teaching assistant for the Family Law Assistance Project and the Estate Planning Clinic
before earning her Juris Doctorate in January 2018.
Jamia has been a member of the State Bar of Michigan since December 2020. She was appointed in July 2020 by Michigan Governor, Gretchen Whitmer to serve on the
Michigan Statewide Independent Living Council (SILC).

Jamia currently serves as Chair of the MiSILC that is responsible for developing a statewide plan that outlines the goals
and objectives to improve the lives of people with disabilities in Michigan. She is also commissioned in the State of Michigan as a Notary Public through September 2029.
Jamia is passionate about helping others and her combination of empathy, patience, attention to detail, and organizational skills allows her to excel to the best of her ability.
In her leisure time, Jamia enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, volunteering, ministry, and the entertainment arts.
